home alone
Thanks for all of your nonjudgemental support! I appreciate all of the advice...and what a strange place to find it...in a machine. Anyway, husband and I have discussed his brother and the situation many times. He spoke with him last night and told him if he wanted to come, to move here to CT that is, he would need to help out. Bro has to go back to Kansas, save up some money and at least buy a car. If he does all of that, he is welcome to come, we will help out finding a job, and a place to stay while he looks for something of his own. Sounds fair to me. Not sure how Mother in law is going to like it. I'm sure she'll think it's my doing...because she never "raised them to be that way." So of course it must be me. But whatever, for the time being...all is well. That's all we can do right?...appreciate the moments without chaos. Ok, leaving you with a few pics from our storm last week...hoping it's the last. Aren't you jealous!

Hope everything works out in the end.
God I love snow. I do envy the storm. I really do. I want to make Calvin like snow creations.
I agree with EJ - it's always a good thing to try and compromise. Glad you both could do it! At least it's a step in the right direction.
Hope some of that snow has melted! Your puppies would get swallowed up playing in snow that deep! LOL
Definitely appreciate the moments like this where you and your spouse find a compromise, and as for your MIL (mother in law) sounds like she's going to complain no matter what, just continue to not let her get to you. One fun thing to do with snow, make a small snowman effigy of your MIL, and pop it into the microwave. As it turns to water (quite quickly I might add), say in a really high pitched voice, "I'M MELTING, I'M MELTING...,MELTING...,"
Glad things worked out!
I'm glad you guys reached a compromise that seems to work for all parties involved.
And I am actually jealous of all the snow. It's just been cold here with little flurries.
I like Walter's comment about the snowman effigy...
And snow! Nice. Looks like you got about 8 inches or so? I think that's what we got out of the last storm too. My mom has over ten feet at her place. You can't even see their roof anymore. I'll have to post pics.
I'm sooooo glad you guys found a good middle ground in the BIL and MIL situation. And when she says she never raised them to "be that way", take it as a compliment. Bending over backwards for family members at every beck and call isn't necessarily a virtue.
Best wishes for a good week!
i like the snow. send it my way if jax doesn't want it. good that things worked out. drama is lame-o!
nilo: it was actually around 2ft. crazy huh? It's all melted now though.
I posted a comment earlier, but forgot to send it out... so sorry!
I'm glad that you and hubby have come to some sort of compromise. Just be sure to remind him of that when bro-in-law starts his camp-out in your livingroom. HAHA!
As for the snow.... it's all yours, sweetie! I moved down here just to get away from it.
BTW- have you ever heard of a little town in CT called Old Saybrook? It's where I grew up till we moved to NH.
ellen...if I get my way...he'll never make it here to camp out. I hope!
Yes, the snow sucks! it's always so pretty the first couple of times...now I'm ready for some sun!
I have heard of Old Saybrook, I don't think it's very far from where I am.
LOL! I kind of hope he doesn't make it there either, for your sake!
That storms looks amazing... i am decidedly jealous.
Got her Via Ellen's blog. I dig it.
Scott
City - Hey IF he's going to try and help himself good for him!
I don't think what you asked him is unreasonable.
Man that's alot of snow! Hope you had a snow blower! LOL
Peace & Hugs,
- Neo
